Apparatus creates abstract generative art.

Each series we create is a program that algorithmically generates unique images, or iterations, based on a provided hexadecimal seed token. Apparatus programs are "deterministic"; when provided a specific seed, they will always generate the exact same image.

Our first two series (one and two) examine the concept of intent through the lens of generative art. Generally when humans write computer programs, they provide specific inputs and expect similarly specific outputs. These series test that notion by exploring how the same set of instructions can yield dramatically different and sometimes unexpected results.
